After 23 years of running the Oxfordshire Junior County Badminton Squads, Brian and Barbara Matthews decided to form a Badminton Club in Witney to cater for beginners, adults and juniors who wished to learn the game.
Experienced players were also welcome to join and the club was named "The Windrush Badminton Club".
This was in 1994 and over the years the club has progressed to become a good competitive club currently fielding many teams across the league.
There are a mixed ability of members, from Division 1 players to Division 5. However, whatever the standard of play, club night is a social occasion where everyone mixes in and enjoys the evening.
